Privacy at Sound Rewound
We collect only the information needed to create, process, and deliver your order.
What we collect
- Your delivery email address, supplied through Stripe Checkout
- Your song request, including story, sound preferences, optional reference song and creative choices
- Payment confirmation and status
- Campaign identifiers included in a link you followed, such as the promotion and ad variation
- Generated production materials
- Your finished songs
Why we use it
We use this information to create the order, process payment, produce the song, deliver your songs, support the transaction, and understand which promotions lead to orders. Campaign identifiers are stored with the order; we do not use a Meta Pixel or another third-party advertising tracker on the site.
Drafts on your device
As you write, this website saves your single and album drafts and creative selections in this browser’s local storage. Draft saving itself does not send these inputs to our server or AI providers. We receive the submitted request when you continue to checkout. Drafts remain in this browser until you clear them, browser data is removed, or a matching successful checkout is confirmed when you return to the site. Newer edits and an unpurchased draft are kept. Anyone using this browser profile could view the saved inputs; clear this site’s browser data on a shared device when finished. Private browsing, clearing site data or browser storage restrictions may prevent recovery.
Providers
Cloudflare hosts the application, database, and private song files. Stripe handles payment and card data. OpenAI processes your current creative request and voice preference to write a title, lyrics, and musical direction. For an album, it also receives earlier lyrics from that album solely to prevent reuse. While earlier creative content is still retained, OpenAI may receive a limited list of prior titles, hooks, and distinctive lyric lines from purchases tied to the same normalized checkout email solely to avoid recycling them. The email address itself and payment information are never included in the AI request. Mureka receives only the resulting lyrics and musical direction to generate audio. Resend delivers transactional emails. Sound Rewound does not receive or store your card number. These providers also process data under their own retention and service policies.
Spam and abuse prevention
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to help protect checkout from automated abuse. It runs in the background and processes browser and device signals under the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
Deletion
Song requests and production materials are scheduled for deletion after 30 days by default. Finished tracks and delivery links are also scheduled for deletion after 30 days by default. The delivery email address is scheduled for deletion after 180 days by default. These periods may be adjusted for unresolved payment or support issues. Provider backups and operational logs may retain limited data for the periods documented by those providers.
No marketing consent
Buying a song is not consent to marketing email. We do not add purchasers to a marketing list.
